Helping Disabled Workers and Their Families

If you've become disabled and unable to work, being denied disability benefits can have serious consequences for you and your family. If you believe you are eligible for disability benefits under the Social Security system and those benefits have been denied for any reason, we may be able to help.

Disability benefits are a major aspect of our practice. Attorney Bruce K. Kirby has been handling social security disability cases since 1975, winning many thousands. He has given multiple seminars on social security disability and taught several Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes on the topic. Attorney Dennis C. O'Dell is a board certified Social Security disability specialist.* Both attorneys are ready to use their experience to your advantage.

Understanding the Criteria

Social Security Disability Insurance provides benefits to people who have contributed to the Social Security system through their payroll deductions.

If you have worked enough quarters over the past 10 years and now suffer from a disability — no matter how you acquired it — that prevents you from working and is either permanent or expected to last for more than a year, you may qualify for disability benefits.

If you have applied for Social Security disability benefits and been turned down, we can help you meet the important deadlines to appeal your case through the system and in federal court if necessary.

If you are disabled but not eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance because you have not worked enough quarters, you may be eligible for Supplemental Security Income. Our attorneys also handle these types of claims.

Representing Children and Spouses

Social Security Disability Insurance provides benefits for some children and spouses of people eligible for benefits. Children under 18 generally qualify for benefits, while their spouses and children over 18 may be eligible under certain circumstances.

We represent children and spouses who have applied for Social Security disability benefits and been denied those benefits on any grounds.
